OmniDex Terms of Service

Naturalist's Field Guide

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of OmniDex ("the App"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or older if required by your local jurisdiction) to use the App.

2. License

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices signed in to your Apple ID.

3. The App Is Informational Only

OmniDex uses AI to assist with species identification. Results are estimates and may be inaccurate. The App is not a substitute for professional ichthyology, conservation, or regulatory advice. Always follow local fishing regulations, catch limits, size restrictions, and protected-species rules. We are not responsible for actions you take based on App output.

4. Subscriptions & Billing

Pro Monthly: $4.99 USD / month with a 7-day free trial.
Pro Yearly: $29.99 USD / year with a 7-day free trial.
Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. They auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage subscriptions in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Free trials convert to paid subscriptions automatically unless cancelled before the trial ends.
Refunds are handled by Apple per its refund policy.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others, or to share illegal content.
Upload content you do not have the right to share, or attempt to defeat anti-fraud or anti-cheat protections.
Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract the App's data at scale.

6. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, brand, illustrations, and code, is owned by us or our licensors. You retain ownership of photos and content you create in the App; you grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the App's features.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and delete it from your device. Paid subscriptions remain subject to Apple's cancellation terms.

8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA OR PROFITS.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in the App. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of (to be filled by legal entity — default: State of California, USA), without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
